It's not unnormal for more than one person to die and also for the dead character to have some spirit or memory after their death. Poe has a strange way of showing his emotions and expressing his life eperiences in all of his stories. Poe is a very strange author. He writes in his own way. It's kind of like he likes to hear himself talk. He doesn't give very good descriptions and it's hard to understand the point he's trying to give off. Poe likes to express death and severe illness in his writing. He sees the dark side of things. He likes to be gloomy about certain things like death and illnesses.
